Rukhsana Swinney

A very warm welcome to ‘The Nursery of Happy Stories’. I feel privileged that you are showing an interest in our wonderful setting.


My name is Rukhsana Swinney and my wealth of experience in the nursery education field covers over 30 years –teaching and in a variety of management roles both in the UK and abroad. I am fully conversant with the Early Years Foundation Stage practice and worked with many children who have spoken English as an additional language and special educational needs. I also am first aid-trained, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Cache Diploma, hold various CPD certificates and a keen Scouts Association Leader.


I think it is natural for a mother to feel that her child should be in a secure environment and get the best education with proper values and social skills. That is why I closely evaluate all activities at the nursery and work meticulously with my staff to ensure that children get the best facilities and opportunities to learn and grow.


At ‘Nursery of Happy Stories’ we will strive to make early learning years the foundation for future endeavors in life. I believe that with the right guidance and direction, children can do wonders.


I hope that all the children who come to our nursery will be able to treasure their experiences and develop values, beliefs and attitudes which will allow them to respond to everyday challenges with integrity and understanding.


In my spare time I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, travelling, outdoor pursuits and being a scout leader.
